It is difficult for anyone living in Jerusalem for any length of time to imagine Jerusalem without the Shuk Mehane Yehudah. Since Biblical times the Shuk has been much more than a market rather it is a way of life and a tradition that extends thousands of years ago where the marketplace is not only where food is purchased at the "Market Price" but also ideas are exchanged, public announcements are made and has been a consistent gathering and meeting point for the Jewish people.
